Nearly one quarter of Americans are planning to travel for a major pop culture event this summer, according to Allianz Partners USA's Annual Vacation Confidence Index.

Based on a survey of 2,010 adult U.S. residents conducted in April, Allianz found that 24% planned travel based around an event.

Younger travelers are more likely to travel for an event. Forty percent of respondents age 18-34 planned event travel, compared to 26% of respondents age 35-54 and 9% of respondents over the age of 55.

"Ticketed events continue to set the stage for American travel," Daniel Durazo, director of external communications at Allianz, said in a release.

Durazo also noted that event ticket insurance can reimburse up to 100% of nonrefundable ticket costs if an attendee is prevented from attending the event for a covered reason. Allianz offers the Event Ticket Protector policy that covers up to $10,000.
