American Airlines launched its first nonstop route to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The nonstop, year-round route from Miami to Ian Fleming Airport will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays utilizing a 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft. In a nod to Fleming, the author of the James Bond series of novels who made his home in Jamaica, the new flight bears the number AA4007.

With the addition of this new flight, American now offers nonstop flights to Jamaica from eight U.S. gateways:Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Austin, Texas.

The new route adds to the more than 100 weekly flights to Jamaica from American and complements the carrier's existing service from MIA to Kingston and Montego Bay.
