When MGM Resorts reopens its Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas properties on Sept. 30, the complex will re-emerge as a 100% smoke-free casino resort, making it the only casino on the Strip to ban smoking.
As rumors swirl about the Park MGM implementing a smoking ban in its casino, some of the industry's keenest observers say now may be the time for others to consider it, as well.

Several Last Vegas casinos, most notably the Bellagio, Wynn and Venetian, offer smoke-free zones, and Las Vegas Sands Corp. (Venetian and Palazzo) on June 18 updated its health and safety plan to ask table game players and spectators to refrain from smoking or vaping, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. But Park MGM and NoMad would be the first to go completely smoke-free.
The Park MGM and the NoMad Las Vegas, the latter of which is housed within the Park MGM, will be the last of MGM Resorts' properties to resume operations following temporary pandemic-related closures earlier this year.
MGM and other Las Vegas hospitality players first began resuming operations at select casino resorts on June 4.
Upon reopening, amenities at the Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas will initially be limited, with days and hours of operation at all venues within the complex expected to vary. Italian marketplace Eataly, Bavette's Steakhouse, the Primrose restaurant and Park MGM's pool will be among the outlets set to be up and running.
Valet parking at the Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas won't be operating, though complimentary self-parking will be available for all guests.
